Singing games are one of my favourite activities to bring into my elementary music classroom! The provide great incentives for students and develop student's singing voices with out realizing they are even practicing their singing! Because I love them so much I came up with the Year of Songs guide which has a singing game that is appropriate for every month of the year. The Year of Songs guide is designed for students in Kindergarten to Grade 2. While students play these game they can practice creative movement, keeping a steady beat, using a singing voice, and solo singing. The year of songs guide includes 12 of my all time favourite singing games. Some of the songs are well known songs for elementary music and others are ones I have come up with! Songs included are: Snowman, Snowman The Hidden Valentine Pass the Gold Chocolate Bunny Frog in the Meadow Ickle Ockle Acka Backa Apple Tree Scarecrow, Scarecrow Pass the Pumpkin Dinosaur Gingerbread Man In the Year of Songs guide there are directions on how to play each of the games, music notation, and projectable lyrics slides to show to you students. It is ready to go and easy to teach! Now the best part! You can get the entire Year of Songs Guide for FREE. I promise you're kids will love it and you will to!
